Assistant Director of Waiver Services
The purpose of this position is to provide support services to the Director with their mission to assist individuals with disabilities to remain independence. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, supervise staff as assigned, maintain files, spreadsheets and charts, generate statistical reports, oversee eligibility process, assist with the development and implementation of best practices, processes and procedures, ensure the program is operating in a fiscally responsible manner.
Requirements- The educational requirements for this position are a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational or Recreational therapy, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology or related human service field. Must qualify as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) Work experience must include a minimum of three years working in human service field with supervisory experience.
Knowledge and Skills- Must have knowledge of ADA, Medicaid, and Independent Living philosophy, Habilitation services, Mental Health services, Substance Abuse services and Home and Community Based Waivers and Traumatic Brain Injuries. Progressive experience and demonstrated skills in program oversight, supervision, and coordination is required. Skills should include Excel, Access and PowerPoint, verbal and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, teaching, supervision, negotiation, problem solving, ability to make decisions independently, and the ability to work with a diverse mix of consumers, professionals and vendors. Full comprehension and knowledge of Medisked, CHOICES, Great Plains and Management Reporter. Must have a valid driver’s license.
