Information and Referral Specialist

Non-Exempt salary: $37,856

35 hour work week

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide information and referral services. Complete intakes via phone, virtually or in-person.
  • Develop and maintain current community resources and service knowledge to be utilized in the provision of information and referral to callers and visitors to the center. Maintain a current, accurate, resource database.
  • Identify gaps in the services to the community, and work with the Advocacy Team to evaluate how RCIL can meet the needs of the communities served.
  • Assist office staff with day-to-day projects and functions.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all LIFE at RCIL and RCIL programs and service to enable provision of effective information and Referral. (I&R)

Education:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, associate degree in Human Services related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office, filing, office machine use, community services and disability awareness, and Outlook.
  • One-to-two years’ experience working with people with disabilities. Minimum of one-to-two years of clerical experience.
  • Excellent customer service, written and oral communication, and organized skills. Telephone, computer use, flexibility and ability to prioritize work.
