The Resource Center for Independent Living is excited to announce a new flexible schedule option for employees! Employees may be eligible to work either Monday-to-Friday 8am-4pm OR extended hours with every other Friday off.
Self-Direction is a program funded by the State and Medicaid that allows individuals the ability to live independently in their own homes and the ability to integrate into the community. Each participant as well as each budget are unique. Self-Direction is completely participant-driven. Participants and their Planning Team decide what services will best suit their needs.
The Self-Direction Broker will develop individualized budgets and service plans while facilitating Circle of Support meetings for participants. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and update comprehensive person-centered plans based on individualized budgets and service plans;
- Assist the Circle of Support with developing comprehensive goals and safeguards;
- Provide education and assist the participant in finding and hiring their staff; and
- Identify and access possible community and natural supports to support the individualized budget and service plan.

Who may be considered:
Two (2) years of experience working with individuals receiving Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) services along with experience with budgets and OPWDD documentation is required. Broker training certificates are preferred.
Community networking and collaboration, organization, advocacy, and strong customer service skills are required.
An Associates Degree is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Wages: $15.39 per hour

Travel Required: Yes, must have a valid NYS Driver’s License in addition to own transportation.
