Description

The Resource Center for Independent Living is excited to announce a new flexible schedule option for employees!  Employees may be eligible to work either Monday-to-Friday 8am-4pm OR extended hours with every other Friday off.  Additionally, the successful candidate for the Grants Writer position may work a flexible schedule of 30-to-37.5 hours per week.

RCIL is looking for a Grants Writer to increase agency financial support by collaborating with agency personnel, community partners and funders.  The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Be responsible for the grant writing process from project development through final submission including maintenance of applicable files, work flow system, reporting requirements and grant timetables;
  • Support achievement of agency goals by successfully researching and identifying potential funding sources, public and private;
  • Develop partnerships with community agencies and cultivate relationships with potential funders;
  • Manage contracting process to include review of contract language, grant tracking and database maintenance; and
  • Coordinate remittance of periodic reporting requirements for various funding sources.

 

RCIL is a civil rights organization that offers individuals with disabilities a wide range of independent living and advocacy services through the numerous programs we manage. 

Who may be considered:

Successful candidates will have a minimum of (3) years of prior successful grant writing and program development experience; including coordinating development teams, researching funding sources, and interpreting requests for proposals.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Education, Journalism, or a related field is required.  Candidates should have experience in Human Services and Community Based Organizations (CBO) collaboration building experience.

A knowledge of effective research and grant writing is required along with a knowledge of funding sources, effective project management and the use of computers.

Candidates must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Placement: Flexible 30-to-37.5-hour weekly schedule
