Self-Direction Trainer

Starting Salary: $51,480

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide ongoing training to new and existing Self-Direction (SD) Coordinators/personnel in all aspects of the SD Program.
  • Develop and maintain the tools that support the processes employed by the SD Program. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Plan and execute initial and refresher trainings on updated regulations and department changes for SD Coordinators and department staff.
    • Maintain department manuals, processes, resources, and electronic files on shared department drive to ensure all are up to date.
    • Manage a small caseload of participants to remain current with SD Coordinator functions, program rules, regulations, and department processes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of satisfactory performance as a SD Coordinator; training experience is preferred.

Education:

  • A College Degree in Education, Human Services, or a related field is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of the SD program and supporting departments, SD rules and regulations, and OPWDD regulations.
  • Strong case management knowledge required.
  • Ability to prepare presentations and format documentation in various applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office – to include Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to move between various tasks at a fast pace and prioritize.
