The Resource Center for Independent Living is looking for a Policy Analyst to work collaboratively with RCIL board members and staff to advance disability advocacy priorities and coordinate RCIL’s grassroots advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Research relevant policy issues, collect and analyze information;
• Evaluate policies effect on individuals with disabilities;
• Monitor events, policy decisions and trends affecting the policy landscape of the disability community;
• Track state and federal legislative budget and administrative proposals and attend legislative meetings;
• Work in collaborations with advocacy coalitions; and
• Write reports, publish findings and give presentations.
LIFE @ RCIL is a civil rights organization that offers individuals with disabilities independent living and advocacy services.
Who may be considered:
Successful candidates will have knowledge of state and federal legislative processes and disability rights issues. A working knowledge of the state’s Medicaid program and long-term care system is preferred.
A Master’s Degree in Public Policy or Public Health is preferred; however, a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four-to-six years of experience in policy development and analysis will be considered. An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the position may be substituted.
