Disability Rights Advocate - Housing Specialist
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Remain informed of disability regulations and policy in order to provide information, referrals, and educational services;
- Identify independent housing opportunities for unstably housed individuals;
- Encourage and educate consumers in self-advocacy; and
- Assist eligible participants through all necessary steps in the housing process.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Candidates should have two years of experience working with people with disabilities. A knowledge of state and local housing policies and practices is required. Candidates should have a working knowledge of entitlement programs. Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, along with a knowledge of disability rights legislation. An Associates Degree is preferred. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Wages: $17.95 per hour
Shift: RCIL offers multiple schedule options for its staff. Employees can work a flexible schedule with three-day weekends every other week OR a standard 7.5 hour schedule working from home every other Friday.
