Disability Rights Advocate - Amsterdam

Description

We are currently searching for a Disability Rights Advocate to work with the community and increase individual’s self-advocacy skills.  The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Complete initial intakes, assessments, and/or orientations for new cases;
  • Provide information and referral services;
  • Encourage and educate consumer in self-advocacy
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all legislative system changes; and
  • Establish and maintain community referral knowledge.

RCIL is a civil rights organization that offers individuals with disabilities a wide range of independent living and advocacy services through the numerous programs we manage. 

Who may be considered:

Successful candidates will have one-to-two years of experience working with individuals who have disabilities.

The ability to speak, read and write Spanish is preferred.

An Associates in Human Services is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Placement: Full-Time

Wages:  $15.39/hour
