Nutrition Outreach and Education Coordinator

Starting Pay Rate: $17.95 per hour ($18.85 if bilingual)

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide outreach to the community to promote the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
  • Distribute SNAP eligibility information to individuals through outreach campaigns and education.
  • Meet with local social services staff to discuss barriers to participating in SNAP.
  • Prescreen individuals and households for eligibility and assist applicants with the SNAP application process.
  • Attend all program-related trainings and webinars.

Education:

  • A College Degree is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Fluency and proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) in a second language is preferred, but not required, for this position.
  • Knowledge of SNAP policy and implementation.
  • Strong customer service and computer skills.
  • Experience with community outreach.

COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position.  RCIL will engage in the accommodation process when an exemption is requested.
