Diabetes Management Program
National Diabetes Prevention Program
If you are someone with pre-diabetes or type II diabetes, please join us for the National Diabetes Prevention Program!
This FREE 26-week series of classes are designed to help participants learn about healthy food choices and how to increase activity to prevent the development of Type II Diabetes.
The goal is to help participants gain the skills and techniques to manage their diabetes and continue to live their lives their way! Diabetes doesn’t have to be a huge interruption to your life.
One of the neat things about this program is that is NOT a lecture series. These classes are highly interactive, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. Participants will gain hands-on experience and collaborate with other participants to develop real-life solutions to some of the challenges they face managing their diabetes in daily life. There is an element of peer support and weekly weigh ins with an incentive for the “biggest loser” at the end of the class cycle. There are healthy cooking demonstrations as well as fun, easy ideas that help attendees increase their physical activity.
This is a CDC approved program.
