Description

Self-Direction participant is seeking full time staff to assist with daily activities and accompany them on community outings. Participant is searching for someone to assist them with various tasks around the house, such as doing laundry, cooking, preparing meals, and assisting with the general upkeep of the home in terms of keeping things clean and tidy. Candidate would also provide accompaniment on various community outings, both business (going grocery shopping, doing banking/paying bills, attending appointments, etc.) and leisure (going out to eat, shopping, to the movies, hiking/kayaking, concerts, and sporting events, etc.). Candidate should have a positive attitude, always display proper role modeling, and encourage active participant participation in the activities they have chosen. Candidate will need to have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license as they will be expected to transport participant to said outings. Ideal candidate will be responsible, punctual, and dependable. A background working with the developmentally disabled population is not mandatory but preferred. There are up to 40hrs available per week for this position and the rate of pay is 18.00/hr. Candidate would also be reimbursed for mileage when participant is riding in vehicle, at 50 cents per mile, and would qualify for Medical/Dental insurance eligibility (if 30+hrs per week are worked on average). The hours would vary but generally Days-Evenings during the week and weekend hours are available/needed as well.
