Description

Self-Direction participant in Herkimer area is in search of part time staff (generally on the weekends). There are 5 hours available per week at a pay rate of 17.00/hr. Participant is interested in volunteering at local animal shelters and supports would include assisting with tasks involved while doing so. Other supports may include in home- various assistance with activities of daily living, as well as participating in leisure activities (watching movies, listening to music, working on craft-art projects) as well as other leisure activities around the community that are of interest to the participant (shopping, dining out, visiting parks, friends and family, museums/event centers focused on entertainment, etc. Applicant does need reliable transportation and would be required to transport participant to various community inclusive locations as listed above- mileage is reimbursed at 50 cents per mile during transport. This position is currently part-time and could lead to other Self Direction employment opportunities within the agency, serving other participants enrolled in the program as well, if additional hours are desired.
