The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Director of Waiver Services with their mission to assist individuals with disabilities to remain independent. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, supervise staff as assigned, maintain files, spreadsheets and charts, manage the hiring, interviewing, placement and counseling of staff. Development of ongoing training and skill development for staff. Interact daily with individuals receiving services and Direct Support Professionals. Approve habilitation plans and complete initial assessment plans for all new referrals.

Requirements- The educational requirements for this position are a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational or Recreational therapy, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology or related human service field.  Must qualify as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP). Work experience must include a minimum of three years working in human service field with supervisory experience.

Knowledge and Skills- Must have knowledge of ADA, Medicaid, and Independent Living Philosophy, OPWDD/OMH/DOH/OASIS regulations, Habilitation services, Mental Health services, Substance Abuse services and Home and Community Based Waivers and Traumatic Brain Injuries.  Progressive experience and demonstrated skills in program oversight, supervision, and coordination is required. Skills should include Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, excellent verbal and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, teaching, supervision, negotiation, problem solving, ability to make decisions independently, and the ability to work with a diverse mix of consumers, professionals and vendors. Full comprehension and knowledge of Medisked, CHOICES, and EPACES systems.  Must have a valid driver’s license.

This is an exempt, full time position with an annual salary of $37,830.00.
