Disability Rights Advocate


Full time


The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Connect individuals with disabilities to resources in the community;
  • Engage in promoting disability rights on the local, state and federal level;
  • Provide information and referral services; and
  • Establish and maintain community referral knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The ability to speak, read and write Spanish is highly preferred, but not required. A strong knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), disability rights legislation, Social Security Administration, Department of Social Services, and Rehabilitation Act is required. Living experience in obtaining disability services or at least two years of experience in providing case management to individuals with disabilities is required. An Associates in Human Services is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Wages:  $15.39 per hour

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

Travel Required: Yes

Locations: Amsterdam, NY and Utica, NY
