Assistive Technology Is a Right, Not a Privilege: Empowering Over 2.5 Billion People to Live Fully and Independently
Assistive Technology (AT) transforms lives. Whether it's a simple walker or a sophisticated hearing aid, AT empowers people with disabilities to live independently, engage fully in their communities, and access opportunities many take for granted. With over 2.5 billion people worldwide relying on AT, it's clear: these tools are not luxuries—they are essential. This month, join us every Tuesday as we spotlight innovative AT devices that break down barriers and build a more inclusive world. Because AT is a right for all, not a privilege for a few.
Assistive Technology (AT) is an important tool that helps people with disabilities fully participate in life. From walkers to wheelchairs, closed captions to curb cuts, haptic experiences to hearing aids, audiobooks to artificial larynxes, and so much more, AT is instrumental in making our communities accessible, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone. Around the world, over 2.5 billion people need at least one form of AT. Check back each Tuesday this month as we celebrate and spotlight just a handful of AT devices that remove barriers preventing people with disabilities from living an independent life.
AT is a RIGHT FOR ALL, not a luxury for some. If you or someone you know requires AT to live life to its fullest, please reach out to RCIL so we can help you get the AT you need for an independent life.
