Making Menus Accessible: Helping Restaurants Serve Everyone
Whether it’s large-print formats or auditory options, accessible menus empower individuals with visual disabilities to enjoy dining out with confidence and independence. Let’s make sure everyone gets a taste of inclusion—because no one should be left out at the table.
It’s not Tuesday, but we couldn’t pass up the chance to talk about a delicious type of Assistive Technology: large-print menus and auditory menus. A large-print menu contains the exact same information as the typical menu, but with larger text to help people with visual disabilities read each tasty option. Auditory menus integrate with text-to-speech technology to narrate the menu for patrons. Accessible menus ensure everyone has a seat at the (restaurant) table. Bon Appetit!
