  2. RCIL PROFILE: Marlene Muniz

Marlene Muniz was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Utica, NY. As one of eight siblings—four sisters and three brothers—family has always been at the center of her life. Her greatest pride and joy is her daughter, who continues to inspire her every day.

Marlene has been a dedicated part of RCIL for 11 years, currently serving as an HR Generalist. She was initially drawn to the organization by its mission and values, which deeply resonated with her personal commitment to compassion, advocacy, and integrity.

One of Marlene’s favorite aspects of her role is being a voice for individuals in need. She finds it incredibly rewarding to know that her work contributes to a greater cause and positively impacts people's lives. Her proudest professional accomplishment was stepping into the HR Generalist role—a position that allowed her to explore new challenges and expand her understanding of Human Resources.

While her team faces ongoing challenges such as adapting to constant regulatory changes, Marlene believes that maintaining open communication is key to navigating them successfully.

To Marlene, RCIL’s mission is more than just words on paper—it is a purpose that aligns with her core values. She strives to approach every interaction with compassion and ensure every individual is not only supported but genuinely seen and heard.

Marlene describes RCIL’s work environment as welcoming, friendly, and mission-driven—a place where people are committed to making a difference.

Outside of work, Marlene enjoys running, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her family. Thanks to a flexible work schedule, she’s able to maintain a healthy work-life balance and continue doing what she loves, both professionally and personally.
