  2. Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose: Amy’s Journey from…

A CNY native, Amy grew up and currently lives in Little Falls, NY. She has been married for 28 years. She and her husband have been blessed with a grown daughter, son, and son-in-law. Everyone is healthy and happy — which makes her feel incredibly lucky. Amy holds an MS from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

As RCIL’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Resources, Amy oversees the Human Resources department. She has been with RCIL for almost twelve years, and what first drew her here was the Agency’s mission. Prior to her time at RCIL, she began working in Human Resources out of college. At Herkimer College, Amy served as a Benefit Manager, eventually transitioning to Assistant Director of Human Resources. After 19 years, she moved on to become a Broker and Human Resources Consultant for another organization. After a few years, Amy wanted to return to working with one employer in a dedicated HR role. To her (and us!), RCIL’s opening and purpose felt like the perfect fit.

Two things stand out as her favorite parts of working at RCIL. Amy notes that no matter your role at RCIL, you feel proud to be part of an agency that empowers individuals with disabilities. Second, she truly enjoys working with the team, which makes coming to work exciting each day. Amy is especially proud of leading RCIL’s Human Resources team. She describes the team as hardworking, dependable, supportive, and always willing to step in wherever needed. Amy adds that recruitment is the biggest ongoing challenge, but we face it together with creativity and commitment.

Amy says "RCIL’s mission means a great deal to me. I believe everyone should strive for a society where all individuals belong and have equal access. Working at RCIL has been very rewarding. The collaborative environment and friendly atmosphere have made for a positive and fulfilling experience."

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In the warm weather they often have family over to go swimming and have a cookout, and this time of year they look for scary adventures on the weekends whether it is going to a haunted site or seeing the latest scary movie.
