We are in search of a responsible, caring adult to work part-time with our 20-year-old son Max, who has autism. Max almost always smiling. He likes riding his scooter, playing with toy animals, play dough, reading books, roller blading, bike riding and many other activities. His speech is limited, and he needs assistance with self-care, food preparation, chores and support in the community. The ideal candidate will have related education and/or experience supporting people with disabilities, and strong references. Hours will include a 3-hour weekend shift (flexible scheduling), and 1 or 2 weekday afternoon shifts (2:30-6:30). Payrate starts at $21/hour with higher rates available with experience.

Housekeeping, doctor's appointment help, help in organizing, vacuuming, Laundry, cooking, shower, Trips to food bank and grocery shopping sometimes, Consumer needs Female PA.

We are looking for someone to escort Reilly to a fitness program we will be setting up. This would be a few days a week. Reilly currently attends the Venture Program until 3 p.m. and would be available at 3 p.m. or after. He is available any day after 3 p.m. and weekends for this activity or outings in the community.

Job Opening: After-School & Weekend Caregiver for 12-Year-Old Girl with Down Syndrome
Funded through the NYS RCIL Self-Direction Program

We’re looking for a kind, patient, and dependable caregiver to support our sweet and energetic 12-year-old daughter with Down syndrome. This position is funded through the NYS RCIL (Resource Center for Independent Living) self-direction program, and we’ll guide the right candidate through the enrollment process if needed.

Location: Sackets Harbor, Watertown area


Schedule:
• Weekdays: 2:30 PM – (after school)
• Weekends: Flexible (typically 4–8 hours/day; can be discussed)

Your Role Will Include:
• Providing attentive supervision and companionship
• Supporting daily routines and basic needs
• Encouraging safe, engaging play and activities
• Helping build communication and social skills
• Light snack or meal prep if needed

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children (especially those with developmental disabilities is a plus)
• Warm, reliable, and patient personality
• Ability to actively engage and support in a respectful and kind manner
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Willing to complete RCIL program requirements (we’ll assist you with this)

Compensation:
• Hourly rate paid through RCIL (rate based on experience and program guidelines)
