Job Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Operate agency vehicles to transport individuals in the community using door‑to‑door assistance.
- Provide safe boarding and disembarking support.
- Perform daily pre‑trip/post‑trip inspections, mileage logs, fueling, and ensure cleanliness of assigned vehicles (interior/exterior).
- Follow GPS routes and maintain communication with dispatch/staff and customers.
- Participate in ongoing, employer provided, driver training.
- Maintain privacy and customer confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
- Valid NY State Driver’s License with two (2) years clean driving record required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Use of cell phone/tablet, read and write in English, ability to follow GPS instructions.
- Good communication and customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Professional driving experience in a passenger or Non Emergent Medical Transport (NEMT) setting preferred.
- One to two years of experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities in community or day-service settings preferred.
