  2. National Epilepsy Awareness Month: “All In” for…

During November, we at RCIL join in recognizing National Epilepsy Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness, break down stigma, and support the 3.4 million Americans living with epilepsy. This year’s theme, “All In,” is a call to action: to unite, commit, and make a difference for individuals and families affected by this neurological condition.

Why Awareness Matters

Epilepsy can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, or background. It is characterized by recurrent seizures caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. These seizures can vary in type and severity, impacting daily life, independence, and mental health.

Stigma and lack of understanding often create barriers to employment, education, and social inclusion. By learning the facts and sharing knowledge, we can help build a more supportive and inclusive community.

How RCIL Supports the Epilepsy Community

At RCIL, we believe that every person deserves access to care, resources, and opportunities for independence. During National Epilepsy Awareness Month, we are committed to:

Promoting Inclusion: Advocating for policies that protect the rights of people with epilepsy.
Connecting Resources: Linking individuals and families to support services and healthcare options.

How You Can Get Involved

Wear Purple: Purple is the official color of epilepsy awareness. Show your support by wearing purple and encouraging others to do the same.
Learn Seizure First Aid: Get certified in seizure recognition and first aid. Free training is available through the https://www.epilepsy.com.
Share Your Story: Use hashtags #NEAM2025 and #AllInForEpilepsy to share experiences and raise awareness on social media.
Join Local Events: Participate in walks, fundraisers, and educational webinars.
Advocate for Change: Contact elected officials to support research funding and access to care.

Every Action Counts

Whether you share a fact, attend an event, or simply start a conversation, you are helping to create a world where people with epilepsy are seen, supported, and empowered.

This November, let’s go “All In”—because together, we can make a difference.
