Disability Rights Advocate (Amsterdam)
RCIL is a civil rights organization that offers individuals with disabilities a wide range of independent living and advocacy services through the numerous programs we manage. The Disability Rights Advocate works under the supervision of the Program Director to provide information, referral and education services directed at increasing the consumer’s self-advocacy skills. The Advocate is responsible for providing information and referral services after completing the consumer’s initial intake and assessment. This position also requires maintenance of detailed files, releases, and working knowledge of all legislative system changes.
Hourly Wage: $15.38
We are looking for an extremely organized, innovative candidate with outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
Successful candidates will have two or more years of experience working with people with disabilities. A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field is required.
Bilingual spanish speaking preferred
